A dryer that runs but won’t dry is a wasted hour. A technician inspects the appliance, identifies the cause, and gives you a quote. No work starts without your go-ahead. We also install and replace dryers; not just repair existing units.

What we repair

We work on vented, condenser, and heat-pump dryers — freestanding, wall-mounted, and stacked. Faults we see most often:

  • Runs but no heat. Heating element, thermal fuse, thermostat; on heat-pumps the compressor or sensor circuit.
  • Takes forever to dry. Restricted airflow (lint in the duct or filter housing), blocked condenser, moisture-sensor fault.
  • Won’t start. Door switch, start capacitor, control board, broken belt.
  • Loud noises. Worn drum bearings, broken pulley, foreign object behind the drum. A rhythmic thump is usually the belt or a support roller.
  • Drum won’t turn. Broken belt or motor fault — the motor often still hums.
  • Cuts out mid-cycle. Overheat cutout from blocked airflow, failing door switch, water-tank-full sensor on condenser and heat-pump models.
  • Error codes. Sensor faults, tank sensors, control board faults.

How a visit works

Call or send the form to book. The technician inspects the dryer, names the fault, and quotes the repair before any work starts. You decide whether to proceed. Belts, fuses, thermostats, and door switches ride on the van; compressors and brand-specific boards are ordered and fitted on a return visit.

Wall-mounted and stacked dryers are dismounted and remounted as part of the job; no need to take them down before we arrive.

Repair or replace?

Belts, elements, fuses, thermostats, and door switches are economical repairs. A failed compressor on a heat-pump dryer is the expensive one: it regularly crosses the point where replacement makes more sense. If the quote exceeds about half the price of a comparable new unit, we say so plainly, and we handle the replacement if that is the call, old unit removed.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Why is my dryer not heating?
Most often a failed heating element, thermal fuse, or thermostat. On heat-pump dryers, a refrigerant or compressor fault. We trace the cause and quote the repair on the visit.
  • How long should a dryer last before needing a repair?
Eight to twelve years is typical. Heat-pump dryers tend to need fewer mechanical repairs but more electronic ones. A pre-existing fault always wins against age. Diagnose first, decide after.
  • Do you service heat-pump dryers?
Yes. Heat-pump models from Miele, Bosch, Fisher & Paykel, Electrolux and others.
  • My dryer runs much longer than it used to. Why?
On vented models, a lint-restricted duct is the usual cause — the moist air has nowhere to go. On condenser and heat-pump models, a blocked condenser or a failing sensor. All three are service items.
  • The drum turns but my clothes come out cold and damp.
That is the classic no-heat fault: element, thermal fuse, or thermostat on conventional dryers; compressor or sensor circuit on heat-pumps. Diagnosable in one visit.
  • Why does my dryer stop after a few minutes?
Commonly an overheat cutout from blocked airflow, a door switch that thinks the door is open, or a moisture sensor fault. We trace which one before quoting.
