Repair or replace an oven?
Ovens are mostly repairable: the heat has to come from somewhere, and that somewhere is usually one replaceable component. What changes the answer is the state of the cavity and whether parts still exist.

Why is my oven not heating?
On an electric oven it is most often a failed element or thermostat. On a gas oven it is usually the igniter, gas valve, or safety thermocouple. The two fail in different ways, so the diagnosis differs — we cover both in our oven not heating guide. -
Do you need a licensed gas fitter for a gas oven?
Yes, and we hold that licence. Gas oven installation and any gas carrying work is done under NSW gas-fitting licence with a certificate of compliance on completion. -
My oven trips the safety switch. Is that repairable?
Usually. It normally means an element is leaking current to earth, which is a component failure rather than a fault with the house wiring. We isolate which element on the visit. -
Can you replace a built-in oven with a different brand?
Often, but the cut-out dimensions decide it. We measure the existing cavity before recommending a model so the replacement fits the joinery you already have.
