Built-in stainless steel dishwasher with door open showing empty racks in a modern white kitchen

A dishwasher that stops mid-cycle is more than an inconvenience. Dishes pile up, the kitchen smells, and replacements are not cheap. We diagnose the fault on the visit, explain what we found, and quote the repair before any work starts. We also install and replace dishwashers; not just repair existing units.

What we repair

We work on built-in and freestanding dishwashers, single and dual drawer. The faults we see most often:

  • Not draining at the end of the cycle: sump debris, blocked hose, failed drain pump.
  • Not filling, or filling slowly: inlet valve, water pressure, anti-flood switch tripped.
  • Leaking from the door or the base: door seal, hose, or pump housing. Base leaks often trip the anti-flood float first.
  • Dishes coming out dirty or with residue: spray arms, wash pump, heater, or dispenser.
  • Error codes on the display: each brand’s codes map to a subsystem. We read them and trace the actual cause.
  • Door latch broken or won’t close: latches and springs are standard parts on the van.

If the fault is intermittent, bring us as much detail as you can on the booking call. The more we know up front, the faster we can have the right part on the van.

How a visit works

Call or fill in the form to book a visit. The technician inspects the appliance, names the fault, and gives you a quote for the repair before any work starts. You decide whether to proceed. Common parts ride on the van; if a part needs ordering, we book a return visit once it arrives.

Repair or replace?

If the dishwasher is under five years old, repair is usually the right call. After ten years, replacement often makes more sense: components fail in clusters, parts get harder to source, and newer models use less water and electricity. We will tell you which side of the line your appliance sits on, and we handle the replacement if that is the answer. We won’t sell you a repair that doesn’t make sense.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Why is my dishwasher not draining?
Most often, a blocked drain hose, food debris in the sump, or a failed drain pump. We diagnose on the visit and quote the repair before any work.
  • How long does a dishwasher repair take?
Usually one visit. The technician diagnoses first, then repairs on the spot if the part is on the van; otherwise we book a return once the part arrives.
  • Which dishwasher brands do you repair?
Most major brands sold in Australia, including Miele, Fisher & Paykel, Asko, Smeg, Westinghouse and Electrolux. Brand not here? Ring us. We likely service it.
  • My dishes come out dirty even though the cycle runs. Why?
Usually blocked spray arms, a worn wash pump, a failed heater (the water never gets hot), or a dispenser fault. Each shows a slightly different pattern on the load. We read it and trace the cause.
  • Why is there water in the bottom of my dishwasher?
Standing water after a cycle points at drainage: sump debris, a kinked or blocked hose, or the drain pump. A small amount in the sump recess is normal; a pooled base is not.
  • My dishwasher trips the power. Is that dangerous?
Stop using it and book a visit. A heater element or wiring fault leaking current trips the safety switch: the switch is doing its job. It is a repairable fault, not usually a write-off.
