Sydney appliance installation

Dishwasher installation & replacement in Sydney

Install and replace built-in and freestanding dishwashers across Sydney. Old unit removed, connections pressure-tested, compliance certificate on electrics.

Dishwasher with ceramic plates

A new dishwasher only works as well as the install. Bad waste-pipe routing, a misaligned door, or a loose cold-water inlet can turn a good appliance into a recurring service call. We install and replace built-in and freestanding dishwashers across Sydney, level and seal the unit properly, and pressure-test every connection before we leave.

What is involved

Dishwasher installation looks simple from the outside. In practice it has three independent connections that all have to work together:

  • Cold water inlet. Existing 15 mm stop valve is checked for sediment and flow. We replace the braided hose if it is more than five years old or stiff.
  • Waste outlet. The drain hose has to loop above the spigot level to prevent siphoning. Pipework under most Sydney kitchen sinks is not set up for this by default. We add a high loop or a non-return valve where needed.
  • Electrical connection. A dishwasher draws around 10 A. We confirm the existing GPO is rated correctly and shares no other heavy load on the same circuit. New installs get a certificate of compliance.

For built-in models we also level the feet, secure the unit to the surrounding cabinetry, and trim the kick panel to clear the door. Door springs are adjusted so the door stays open at any angle.

Replacing an existing dishwasher

A dishwasher that leaks, will not drain, or has a failed control board sometimes makes more sense to replace than to put through another dishwasher repair. Replacement is a different job from a first-time installation because the cabinetry, plumbing, and electrics are already in place. The work focuses on:

  • Removal. Disconnect water, waste, and power, then slide the old unit out without damaging the kick panel or the surrounding cabinetry. Most older Sydney kitchen installs use builder-grade plumbing fittings that need careful handling.
  • Inspection of the existing connections. Worn inlet hoses, perished waste connections, and corroded GPOs are replaced before the new unit goes in. This is where most replacement-job leaks come from later if skipped.
  • Cabinetry check. Older 600 mm openings sometimes carry built-up debris on the floor that lifts the new unit. We level the cavity before fitting.
  • New unit installation. Fitted, levelled, secured, and tested through a full cycle before we leave.

We recommend replacement when:

  • The repair quote exceeds about 50 percent of a comparable new unit.
  • The unit is older than ten years and a sealed system component has failed.
  • Replacement parts are no longer available from the manufacturer.
  • The fault has come back more than once.

Brands we install

Every brand sold in Australia. We see Miele, Bosch, Asko, Smeg, Fisher & Paykel, Westinghouse, Electrolux, NEFF, Gaggenau, Whirlpool, Samsung, and LG most often.

When installation matters more than the brand

A premium dishwasher fitted badly will run noisier, leak, or fail the first cycle test. A mid-range dishwasher fitted correctly will outlast its warranty. If you are spending money on a quiet European dishwasher because you want the silence, the install has to be precise.

How it works

  1. Send us the brand, model, and install address. For replacements, tell us what the existing unit is doing. We come back with a fixed quote.
  2. We confirm an appointment window. Same-week is usually possible for standard installs.
  3. We install on the day. Most jobs are completed in a single visit; old unit out, new unit in.
  4. We test, hand over paperwork, and remove the packaging — and the old unit, if it is a replacement.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

  • How long does a dishwasher installation usually take?
Around 1 to 2 hours for a like-for-like replacement of an existing unit. Longer for first-time installations that need new plumbing or electrical work.
  • Do you supply the dishwasher or do I provide it?
Either works. Most customers buy the unit themselves from a retailer; we install whichever brand you choose. If you would like us to source the unit, we can quote that separately.
  • Will a new dishwasher fit my existing cabinetry?
Standard 600 mm and 450 mm cabinet openings are well covered by current models. We measure on the diagnostic visit so the new unit fits without joinery work.
  • When does replacement make more sense than repair?
As a rough rule, if a repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new unit, replacement is the better call. We diagnose on the visit and tell you straight.
  • What happens to the old dishwasher?
We disconnect and remove it. If you would prefer to keep it for parts or sell it on, just let us know on the day.
  • Do I get any paperwork after the install?
Yes. We provide a certificate of compliance for the electrical connection and a workmanship record for the installation itself.
